CLUB STATEMENT UPDATE
Dear Parent/Guardian/Supporter/Player et al.
At Monmouth Town we have enjoyed much success over the last few years with our junior and senior teams. Of course with any successful club there is a huge amount of work that goes on in the background. While often unseen there is a small group that work tirelessly to ensure that the coaches can concentrate on coaching ,the equipment and facilities are available and fit for purpose. This group, while extremely committed, needs to expand and this is where I hope you are able to help.
Currently we have some 300+ players registered with Monmouth from U6 to the 1st team, making us the largest club in East Gwent. This is a fantastic achievement and great recognition for the hard work done so far. But can we be better, absolutely we can, but we need more volunteers to help within the club and therefore on Wednesday 25th May at 19.30 we will be holding a whole club meeting where we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to help us raise the bar in our football offering from the bottom to the top of the club.. There are many roles within our football club from chairperson, treasurer, events organiser, social media, marketing, etc.
If you are interested in getting involved or finding out more information please join us on the 25th May at 19.30 in the Clubhouse (large white building opposite the chippy car park).
Following a root and branch review of the whole football club, which now involves some 350 active players, Monmouth Town AFC will shortly be incorporating a new constitution and at the same time dissolving the Community Interest Company set up in 2011. There are a number of committee and other volunteer positions to fill and it is hoped that anyone interested in becoming involved with a successful local football club will now step forward.
The various new initiatives, to be outlined at an open meeting in May, will suit all individuals no matter how many hours they have to spend.
Look out for the meeting date via the media channels shown below and come along and get involved.
